Choose the dessert for the sales channel.

A Japanese dessert assortment works best when each product has a clear role. Dorayaki combines two soft pancakes with anko, chocolate or matcha filling in an individually packed 85g format. It is a recognisable starting point for café, restaurant and premium retail assessments.

Mochiai is Ochiai’s handmade mousse-filled mochi, not mochi ice cream. Soft mochi dough surrounds a light pastry mousse; individual weights are 70g or 73g depending on flavour. Compare texture, presentation and the current product-specific handling instructions before choosing a menu or retail application.

Kurimu matcha gelato uses Japanese matcha from Aichi. Gelato and sorbet come in 0.5L, 2.5L and 6L formats, including the transparent Kurimu-labelled 0.5L tub. Cotton cheesecake, truffles and chocolate amenities can complement the assortment where the service model fits.

For Thailand: align the assortment with the operation.

A hotel group evaluating a plated dessert, a café operator assessing individually packed pastry and a distributor building a frozen range will need different specifications. A Thai buyer can start by stating the intended channel, delivery destination, forecast volume and launch timing, rather than requesting a generic mixed shipment.

For Kurimu, include the receiving and frozen-storage arrangements. For Mochiai and dorayaki, ask for the handling and storage instructions for the actual product code. Tell us who will manage import and local distribution so those requirements can be assessed before a commercial commitment.

For Vietnam: clarify the receiving and sales plan.

Vietnamese importers and buyers can prepare a brief around their distribution model: restaurant groups, hotels, cafés or premium retail. State whether the product will be served individually, plated, displayed in a counter or sold in a branded pack. This helps the production team discuss suitable flavours and formats.

Include the delivery destination, expected replenishment pattern, proposed pack and receiving arrangements. Ingredient lists, allergens, shelf life, storage instructions and labelling requirements should be reviewed for the selected products. Availability and shipment feasibility to Vietnam are assessed by project; this page does not imply an established local distribution network.

Prepare a brief before requesting a quotation.

Send the destination country, purchasing company, channel, preferred products, expected quantities and launch date. Ask for current technical sheets, pack information, allergens, storage conditions, sample feasibility, minimum order quantities and lead times. Cold-chain requirements must follow the specification for each product, not a general assumption about Japanese desserts.

Your importer and logistics partners should confirm the destination’s applicable import and food requirements. Ochiai reviews manufacturing and supply feasibility with the buyer; we do not claim that every product is already approved or stocked in Thailand or Vietnam. Private-label recipes, packaging and labelling are discussed separately through our own-brand development process.

Before you source

Practical questions for professional buyers.

Does Ochiai already have stock in Thailand or Vietnam?

This guide supports a sourcing enquiry. It does not claim local stock or an established delivery network. Supply, samples and logistics are assessed for the products, volume and destination.

Is Mochiai the same as mochi ice cream?

No. Ochiai Mochiai is handmade mochi dough filled with light pastry mousse, not ice cream. Product-specific storage and service instructions must be confirmed before ordering.

What information is needed for a wholesale enquiry?

Share the destination country, sales channel, selected products, proposed quantities, preferred packaging, launch date and receiving arrangements. Technical and commercial details are confirmed by project.
